		<description>Many people prefer redwoods and whales to be alive rather than used as wood and meat. For this reason I am pretty sure that ample property rights would lead to redwood and whale preservation. If redwoods and whale had more value as wood and meat than as living things, and their population growth rate were lower than the discount rate, I fail to see why exploiting them to extinction would be "absurd."</description>
